AI receptionist
It answers. You bludge.
Put your Bludge number on your website, or forward the one you already publish, and every call is answered in a natural Australian voice. It says it is an AI in the first sentence, asks the questions you would ask, and ends the call in one of three places.
- Says it's an AI in the first sentence of every call.
- Australian phone number included, and it answers that number as well as calling out on it.
Where a call ends up
Booked, called back, or sorted.
Every answered call finishes in one of three places, and you find out which one without listening to anything.
-
Booked
A caller who qualifies gets a time in your calendar before they hang up, from the live slots your calendar actually has. The appointment and the transcript are waiting for you afterwards.
-
Called back
If they would rather talk to you, or it is outside your hours, it takes the name, the number and what they need, and emails you the lot with the transcript.
-
Sorted
A supplier, a wrong number or somebody after a job gets a polite answer and a note to you, not your qualifying questions. Those are kept for the people who rang about work.
-
Written down, either way
Every call leaves a transcript, an outcome and a two-line summary in the admin, whichever of the three it was. No recording is kept.
On every call
The same five things, at nine at night or in the middle of a job.
-
Says it's an AI, first sentence.
Every call opens with the disclosure. It isn't a setting, and it can't be talked around.
-
Asks what you would ask.
Write the questions in plain words, or paste your website and let it draft them for you. The caller comes back marked hot, warm or cold.
-
Answers from your notes.
Call-out fee, service area, lead times, what you do and do not take on. If it hasn't been told, it says so and offers a call back rather than guessing.
-
Books into your calendar.
Live slots from Calendly, HubSpot, Zoho or SavvyCal, then a confirmation by text.
-
Knows when to step aside.
Ask for a person and it stops asking questions, takes the details, and tells your team to call back.
Compliant by default
Australian telemarketing rules apply to AI voices too. These ship switched on, and a customer can narrow them but not widen them.
- Hours
- Mon to Fri 9 am to 8 pm, Sat 9 am to 5 pm.Never Sundays or public holidays, in the lead's own state's time.
- Consent
- Enquiries older than 90 days aren't called automatically.
- Opt out
- Reply "stop" by text, or say so on the call. That person is never contacted again, on any number you use.
- Disclosure
- First sentence, every call, in every voice.
The hours above are the hours it may ring somebody. Answering is different: a call the caller placed is answered whenever it comes, and outside your hours it says so, takes a message, and offers a time if your calendar is connected. Listen to a whole call
What it is measured against
An Australian human answering service: A$185 a month for fifty calls.
That is the bill most people are already paying to have the phone answered, and it is the honest thing to hold us up against — not the cheapest plan in the category.
We do not try to be the cheapest. What Bludge offers against that bill is a voice from your own market, calling rules that ship switched on rather than as a setting, and the callback, which very little else in this category does at all.
OfficeHQ's published MyReceptionist 50 example, gathered 9 September 2026. Its entry subscriptions run A$25 to A$49 a month plus usage, excluding GST, so what anybody actually pays depends on how much they use it. The published rate card.
By trade
Written for the calls you actually get.
The same product, in the words of one trade, with that trade's example calls and the systems it runs on.
