Raef and Clent have been friends since university, where they worked on group assignments together. Now they’re building a business together, combining their experience in software and business growth.

Raef Akehurst

Raef has 30 years of software experience. He co-founded ProjectProject and later sold his share of the business. The team built applications and websites for clients including the Australian Government, Queensland Health, Australian Unity, Beyond Blue, Save the Children, Smiling Mind, FetchTV, Isuzu, Golf Australia and North Melbourne Football Club.

At ProjectProject, his team also built the first version of Team App and helped establish the business. He later co-founded and built Tell Touch, an aged care feedback platform acquired by Leecare in 2025. He also co-founded Powercoach, an Australian football coaching app that combines live match statistics with AI insights. He brings that experience of building software and running businesses to Bludge.

Clent Jewell

Clent brings 30 years of brand and marketing experience, including work at Mars, Clorox and SPC Ardmona. He founded Jewell Projects, whose brand work includes Whiskas, MasterFoods and Glad. Through Jewell Projects, he has also helped Hidrive and King Country Petfoods with their brand and marketing.

At Bludge, he brings that experience to strategy and growth through the 3D Process: Discover, Design, Deploy. That means understanding the business and its customers, choosing where to focus, then turning the plan into branding, websites, sales materials and marketing activities. He helps owners connect the decisions they make about their business with the work needed to reach and win customers.
