Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is the main international standard for accessible websites. Level AA is the level most organisations aim for.
We have not finished checking the whole site, so we do not claim that every page meets this standard yet. This page tells you what we have checked and what is still open.
What we have checked
On 26 October 2026 we checked the homepage, mainly the example workflows. We used automated tests and checked each part by hand. We checked that:
- Keyboard: you can reach and use every control with the keyboard. This includes the tabs, the step buttons and Back and Next. Each control shows a clear focus ring when you reach it.
- Zoom: the page still works at 200% zoom. Nothing is cut off, and you do not need to scroll sideways.
- Text spacing: the page still works when you make the space between lines, letters, words and paragraphs bigger.
- Contrast: text is easy to read against its background. Control edges and selected items are clear, and they do not rely on colour alone.
- Screen readers: the page has one main heading and a clear set of section headings. Buttons, tabs and groups have names that make sense. New steps are announced. These announcements stop while the narration plays, so you do not hear both at once.
- Target size: buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels, so they are easy to tap. Links inside a sentence are the only exception.
- Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the page turns off or reduces its moving effects. This includes the animations and smooth scrolling.
What is still open
We know about these issues and plan to fix them:
- Order on phones: on small screens, the example workflows show the guide and the play controls above the example screens. When you use the Tab key, you reach the example screens first. We are deciding how to change this without changing the layout on larger screens.
- Narration updates: when a screen reader announces a new step, it also reads the words of the closed "Read narration" section. This is extra speech, but nothing is missed.
- Testing with people: we have not yet tested with real screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA, or with Windows high contrast settings.
- Other pages: we have not yet checked the other pages in the same detail as the homepage.
